COVID-19 - Important Update

As we continue to monitor developments and consider American Benefits Group’s response and contingency plans in the context of the coronavirus developments, our priority is the safety of our employees and ensuring our ability to continue to service our clients’ needs.

Our Critical Response Group is composed of leaders and subject matter experts across our business lines. This group is meeting daily to assess the impact across our business and in our communities, advise the executive management, develop and deploy actions.

In terms of prevention, we are reiterating the importance of following recommended best practices of the Centers for Disease Control (the “CDC”) for health and hygiene. We have also instituted a travel policy limiting both international and domestic business air travel across our company.

To continue serving you under various scenarios, including where travel is limited or employees are advised to work remotely, our team has remote and secure access to essential resources (documents, software etc.) and tele and video conferencing platforms.

In response to COVID-19 we are requesting whenever possible, that going forward all submission currently being sent through the US mail now be submitted using our available technologies.

  • Manual Claim Reimbursement: these can be submitted electronically either by uploading information through the participant portal, using the camera feature with our mobile application or faxing to our secure fax viewer.
  • Monthly Administrative Service Fee Invoices Payments: communications are in the process of being emailed to all AP contacts for each organization. Within the communication, we identify alternative methods of payment.

We have company-wide contingency plan in place and we are working with our partners to ensure that we advance best practices under multiple scenarios. This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will continue to communicate with you on developments as applicable.
